Chris and his FXR
Ran into this guy about a month ago coming home from work. We got to talking and had similar interests so I gave him a card and invited him over to the shop. Well tonight was his first official visit to the shop and he brought his daughter Haven. Chris has a spotless white Harley FXR.

Bike night at the tavern, fredericksburg va
![]() |
went to Dougherty's Tavern to check out thier bike nights and see if I could spot any chop action. It is good place, and from what I am told have some good eats. The bike scene was ok. About 20 bikes in attendance but mostly stocker and baggers. Most bikes were they when I arrived at 6:30 and the mob broke up around 9:00.

New Allstate Tank
I picked up this tank from a guy in Colorado. Saw it on the ChopCult classifieds and had to have it. He said it came off an oil-in-frame BSA that he picked up. I got the tank and loved the embossed logo on the side. I had no idea why an Allstate logo would be on a BSA tank but I went with it. I did a little research and found out it was a tank from 1960\70 bikes that were sold through Sears overseas made by Allstate.
Pulled the knee guards off and removed the side panels. I wanted to check the tank for leaks and get rid of the cracked bondo.
I really dig the big cap, reminds me of an old radiator cap.
Going a different direction with my bike and getting rid of the Cole Foster tank with the pinup girl. I think this will make a nice replacement.

Frame time

The progress on the 82 Virago continues. We finalized the timing, chain tension and valve adjustments. Now that she is sealed up it is time to move on to the frame.

Since we are going for a cleaner look, it is important to grind off all the extra mounts. This is also a good time to clean up some of the factory welds.
